Cerise is the female we kept from our first litter, out of Cocoa and Quinn. She’s incredibly smart and attentive. She naturally excels in all the sports we’ve tried. In Agility she has great natural jumping form and obstacle commitment. Cerise very much enjoys going fast, and as a beginner agility handler, keeping up with her has definitely challenged me. She earned all her Novice ASCA agility titles in her first weekend trialing. She is quiet and focused while training and trialing. She is not very quiet if she’s not actively engaged with me, and especially loud if someone else is getting a turn to play instead of her.
In obedience she is very focused, and has a lot of drive to maintain eye contact with me while heeling. She has trialed lightly in Beginner Novice Obedience and Novice Rally, earning high 190’s and perfect scores.
In herding she is fast and can work wide or close, and handles pressure well. She works all types of stock eagerly and has a natural sense of balance. She has a strong fetch and is also a confident driving dog . She has a fantastic wearing style on cattle, which keeps them grouped and moving without the need for conflict. Cerise has worked heifers, bulls and cow/calf pairs in fenced fields, pens, and unfenced areas up to 15km’s during cattle drives. When flanking she runs wide and naturally looks to catch the outside eye to turn the stock. She made her stock trialing debut on April 2nd, 2017, earning the Most Promising Started Dog silver buckle at Sierra Shadows trial in Gardnerville, Nevada.
Cerise is the kind of dog that always gives 110% in everything, and is so much fun to train and trial! She had her first litter in October 2017, sired by our dog Sterling. There were 5 lovely puppies, who have all gone to great homes and will be training to compete in Herding, Agility, Rally, Obedience, Conformation and Canine Freestyle.
Cerise’s first Advanced stock run of her career, on cattle at the ASC of MT National Pretrial. Score 113, 3rd place
