Superfly Dogs uses positive reward, and play based methods to make training fun for dogs. A Superfly dog should be its owner’s right-hand, no matter what job needs doing, whether it’s herding sheep, competing in dog sports, going for a run, or just sitting on the couch. Our puppies are raised in the house with us, using puppy-culture type methods. Our goal is to create an instinctual working australian shepherd with correct conformation, that can do anything their people set their minds to. We take great care in making sure our pups go to the home that is the best fit for them. By the time they leave us, our puppies have been marker training for several weeks, and will offer basic behaviours (sit, down, hand touches). They are started on potty training, crate games and have been on multiple car rides. We try our best to socialize puppies to create a happy, well-rounded dog. We train and trial our own dogs in herding, obedience, agility, rally and conformation. Our dogs have also gone on to train in many other activities with their new owners. Our breeding dogs have extensive health and genetic testing, to help ensure that they will not pass along any undesirable genetic diseases. Examining pedigrees and the Coefficient of Inbreeding on the litters we produce helps us make breeding decisions that keep diversity in mind.
